For so long, we in the environmental movement have done a disservice to ourselves, speaking about the urgency of our mission from a place of fear and loss. We were well-meaning, but ultimately caused people to tune out because the numbers lacked context and meaning, and because the solutions seemed so complicated and out of reach.
With the publication of Drawdown in 2017, all of that changed. Instead of doom, Drawdown offers hope — fully vetted solutions that only need scale to solve for climate change and actually reverse global warming.
Dr. Katharine Wilkinson is a friend of Drawdown Georgia, serving on our research team and lending her expert point of view based on her work as a communications executive of Project Drawdown. We’re honored to know her and many of the contributors, including Biomimicry Institute’s Janine Benyus, author and activist Naomi Klein, the former head of Living Future, Amanda Sturgeon, and journalist Amy Westervelt.
